A true treasure of Tuscany10/02/2021
The Argiano region is part of the rich history of Montalcino area which the name, we believe stretches as far back as the first settlements in Roman Times. In the 16th century the Pecci family built an outstanding villa and within that villa contained an incredible cellar in which the wine-making industry of Argiano was born.
Throughout the centuries the estate was passed through different families until Lady Ersilia Caetani Lovatelli who promoted the wine commercially caught the attention of the world. In 1992 Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano introduced significant innovations to the wine-making industry in Argiano in partnership with the world-famous Oenologist, Giacomo Tachis promoting the region to new heights within the industry.
Bringing us to the present day Argiano, in 2013 the estate was transferred to Bernardino Sani whose vision is bringing Argiano wines into a new global recognition level.
Olivier Gasselin, Director of trade at Oeno states “This winery in Tuscany holds such a famous rich history, it really is iconic. The range produced by Argiano is varied, prestige and very well known in the trade, we are excited to be partnering with them on some classic vintages perfect for long-term investments and entry level wine’s, making these products very accessible for a range of customers”
Oeno has secured a variety of wines from Argiano, a few medium – long term investments in addition to the ‘Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Suolo’, which is a very tiny production and one of the best wines produced at Argiano. At the other end of the scale Oeno have also acquired ‘Solengo‘, which is a very modern wine with huge appeal and following.
A great potential for ageing and a large variety in the collection shows Argiano appealing to a wider range of customers proving there is something for everyone with this brilliant estate.
