#OenoAtHome, A one-of-a-kind tasting.

29/03/2021

On the 25th March OenoTrade held its first virtual portfolio tasting called #OenoAtHome. Annually OenoTrade would usually host a large trade tasting in London, however due to the Covid19 pandemic Oeno decided to take the event online. They partnered with a wide variety of wineries globally to produce a tasting portfolio the trade could try and enjoy ranging from super premium wines to more affordable.

All 30 guests received a luxury bespoke tasting box which was hand delivered by our Oeno team. Some guests even experienced the Oeno Black Cab delivering the packages to their house. Inside the box included 12 sample bottles and one full size champagne (see below for full tasting list).

Each vineyard produced a tasting video for our guests including in depth tasting notes, a history of the vineyard and any other important information new trade clients should know about the how the wine is made and their estate. All the videos had their own charm and exclusive producers such as Loic Pasquet and Stéphane Sésé gave a personal insight into about their wine and estate, content you will not be able to see anywhere else.

Olivier Gasselin (Director or Trade at Oeno) says “This is a perfect opportunity to showcase some regions and agencies which the trade would have not experienced before. For example, Silver Heights from China, the winemaker there is called Emma Gao and she is doing wonders with wine. We have included their top cuvee in our selection, this is produced in small quantities and is just exceptional. I discovered Siler Heights while in Shanghai and was blown away, we have been exclusively exporting in the UK now for a year and a half”.

With the devastating effects of Covid19 on the trade industry Oeno wants to help trade reopen as smoothly as possible, hence why we are offering all our trade clients the consignment scheme. This is simply a program to help trade with cash flow, the client only pays for the bottle when opened and consumed.

Justin Knock, MW of Oeno says “Oeno is building a reputation for high quality brands which include luxury and premium wine in its portfolio. We also understand the trade need access to wines with a more commercial price point. We have included for example out of Napa Valley Cervantes Family, the Blacktail. This wine tastes and feels like something much more expensive however because it comes from the Popes Valley, a lesser-known region of the Valley its incredibly good value”.
