GOSH Children’s Charity
10/09/2018What the event involved
Love GOSH once again took place in the beautiful setting of Rosewood London. Guests were greeted with a Champagne reception, while taking part in our exciting balloon and key raffles to be in with a chance of winning some exclusive prizes, including a two Delta Cabin flights to the US – the perfect valentine’s gift.
String trio, Ember, led guests into the ballroom before we welcomed our charity patron and host for the evening, Tess Daly. After a sumptuous three-course dinner, entertainment continued with Sophie Ellis-Bextor performing her top hits including Murder on the Dancefloor, and DJ Dan Browne continuing the party throughout the night.
With the chance to bid on some money-can’t-buy prizes in our live and silent auction auctions, as well as the opportunity to pledge towards the four-bed bay, there were plenty of ways for our guests to show their love for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
Details of next year’s event will be coming soon.
Where your money will go
This year saw the first of a two-year fundraising initiative to raise £500,000 to fund a new four-bed bay in the surgery centre and we are delighted that £225,000 was raised towards our target.
High-dependency care involves more intensive observation and treatment than on the general wards, therefore it is crucial that our patients who are admitted to this ward are given the best care possible. This unit will allow around-the-clock care from nursing staff as well as providing space for a parent or carer to stay with their child.
Thank you
We are extremely grateful to the Love GOSH committee, chaired by Tara Falk, for their hard work to ensure this event was such a success.
We would like to thank our fantastic lead sponsors Brit Insurance, Delta Air Lines and co-sponsor RenaissanceRe, for without their support, the evening would not have been possible.
Thank you to OenoFuture and Daniel Carnio for providing the alcohol for the evening, and lastly, to the generous companies and individuals that supported us by donating brilliant prizes for our live and silent auctions and raffles, and to all those who helped put on such a great evening.
