Purchased by Hélène Garcin Lévèque and her husband Patrick Lévèque in 2014, Poesia was previously known as Chateau Haut Villet. The estate’s new name is taken from the family’s Argentinian winery where the couple produce excellent wines from ungrafted wines planted in 1935. Hélène also oversees several more top Bordeaux château including Clos l’Eglise in Pomerol and Chateau Poesia in St. Emilion
Poesia is set on the north-eastern side of the Saint-Émilion plateau with a total of 9.7 hectares of vines here and an additional 4.5 hectares in Cotes de Castillon. Patrick and Hélène are currently working hard to improve quality both in the vineyard and winery, including replanting large sections of the vineyard. The previous track record of the family and Poesia’s excellent terroir promise great potential for the future of this up-and-coming estate.
