Intense ruby red with garnet highlights. The nose expresses richness and intensity thanks to beautiful fruity and slightly spicy, balsamic and floral notes. The palate is centred, juicy, fine and complete. It closes with a vibrant and persistent finish.
Flagship of Castellare di Castellina, I Sodi di San Niccolò has been twice in the Top 100 of Wine Spectator. Pride of the winery, it represents the highest expression of Sangiovese in Chianti Classico, flanked by a small proportion of Malvasia Nera, another traditional variety of the area. Vinified in stainless steel and left to mature in barriques for up to 30 months, it reveals itself in the glass with intensity and grace, with harmony and infinite elegance. Excellent even many years after the harvest.
