In the last 20 years, Marqués de Murrieta has released only six vintages of Castillo Ygay. It is rare for the Creixell family to release Castillo Ygay in consecutive vintages but given the exceptional quality of the 2011 vintage it was an unmissable follow on to the lauded 2010. Hailing from a single 40ha vineyard, ´La Plana´, within the 300ha Ygay Estate, Castillo Ygay is only made in outstanding vintages. A blend of 85% Tempranillo & 15% Mazuelo, Castillo Ygay is aged for 24 months in 225 litre American and French oak barrels, and bottled in March 2015.
