In 1956 the Piedmontese De Marchi family acquired an important property in the municipality of Barberino Val d’Elsa on the western side of the Chianti Classico. In 1976, with the decision to move permanently to Isole, Paolo de Marchi began a profound restructuring of the company.
Years followed in which sensitivity, competence and respect for the territory allowed Paolo to obtain very important results, especially with Sangiovese. Even today Isole, despite the 50 hectares of vineyards, is a family-run business and the wealth of knowledge acquired is a heritage for all the Chianti Classico.
