A Timeless Treasure: The Glenlivet 1981 Sherry Cask

The Founder, George Smith, blazed a new trail in the world of whisky. As the first licensed distillery in the Glenlivet region, he established himself as a visionary and the creator of the quintessential Speyside single malt.

This pioneering spirit has been their guiding light ever since, driving the distillery to challenge conventions and redefine what’s possible in single-malt Scotch whisky.

The pinnacle of single-malt Scotch whisky has been matured in exquisite sherry casks for over four decades.

Glenlivet's Reputation spread beyond the green hills of Scotland to the Smoky skies of London. When Charles Dickens wrote to his friend urging him to try the "rare old Glenlivet", he was recommending a single malt that went beyond his great expectations.

Discover the depth of flavour that comes from decades of maturation in hand-selected sherry casks.

Previous releases have a gentle sweetness of poached pears harmonised with the heady citrus notes of ripe, sun-drenched Seville oranges, whilst a deeper note of sticky dates grounds the trio. These are matched by the deep warmth of toasted hazelnut and the indulgent richness of dark chocolate, finishing with the spiced warmth of cinnamon and nutmeg.

This is a rare and coveted whisky, available in very limited quantities.
