Inspired by its 200-year milestone, The Macallan has created a world where time is fluid and nature safeguards its most precious elements. Spikes protect the beautiful and delicate, symbolizing the brand’s commitment to preservation.
In TIME: SPACE, The Macallan explores its historical connection to nature, featuring flora and fauna like the thistle, Scotland’s national emblem. The majestic Andalusian horses, linked to the cooperages of Jerez, Spain, and the peacock, a symbol of natural color for the brand, are also showcased.
The journey descends beneath the crystal-clear waters of a river inspired by the River Spey, culminating in a dramatic eclipse that reveals the TIME: SPACE vessel.
“It was an absolute privilege to be able to reach back in time and select
stock from 1940 to honour and celebrate our 200 Year Anniversary. As a
Whisky Mastery Team, our roles are unique in the sense that we get to
time travel – selecting whisky from the past crafted by our
predecessors, whilst simultaneously laying down casks for future
generations of whisky makers and consumers.
To nose, taste and select whisky distilled eight decades ago is an
exceptionally rare occasion in the life of a whisky maker and one which I
will treasure”.
