Ready-to-bottle cask may be smarter than waiting.

Why let your whisky sit for years when it’s already at its prime?

You’re well used to us by now going on and on about “being in it for the long haul” when it comes to wine and whisky collecting.

Well, what if we told you a ready-to-bottle cask is sometimes the smarter move?

Controversial, we know, but sometimes stock is that good; you need to act now or regret it later.

You know what’s coming next, don’t you?

Yep – we’ve found something that good.

Aultmore 1st Fill Bourbon Barrel Speyside 2012—aged 12 years, a bold 62.50% ABV

Aultmore is one of Scotland’s well-known distilleries and has endured many ups and downs of the whisky industry.

Founded by Alexander Edward in 1896, Aultmore faced major setbacks only a few years later when the infamous Pattison crash hit the whisky market hard, leaving Edward—who supplied Glasgow’s blending houses—in financial upheaval.

Despite his efforts, Edward ultimately sold Aultmore in 1923 to John Dewar & Sons, and it was later absorbed into DCL (now Diageo), eventually becoming part of the Bacardi portfolio in 1998.

The distillery was entirely modernised in 1971, doubling its stills from two to four to meet rising demand.

Aultmore remains a bit of a hidden gem, with most of its single malt whisky going into blends.

Even now, the distillery stands alone in Speyside’s rugged landscape, capturing the spirit of Foggie Moss, whose pure, mineral-rich waters give Aultmore its distinctive fresh, delicately sweet profile.

The official bottling selection is limited, making a perfectly-aged, ready-to-bottle cask like this one a rare find.

This Speyside whisky is exceptionally smooth and well-balanced, with flavours that evolve in layers: you’ll pick up warm notes of toast, rich custard, hazelnut, and crisp apple.

Many people think buying a young cask will give them greater returns in the long run. While we generally recommend long-term hold to our clients, it’s not always the most effective strategy.

A ready-to-bottle cask lets you enjoy premium whisky at its peak, with the added benefit of immediate quality, control, and returns.
We guarantee we won’t have this cask for long, given its rarity and quality.  So, move quickly if you’re interested.
